Day 68

March 10, 2009

I have a lot of wonderful things in my life and I have a lot of favorites. By far, one of my most favorite things in the whole world - is this little girl. I have been working a quilt and she has been really interested in helping so I put her to work cutting threads from the back of the quilt blocks. It was so fun to have her sit right by me and just be friends with her. I love all her questions about everything. I love that she loves to be right by me. I love that the whole house was quiet and all I had to do was focus on her. I love that she asks and asks until she understands. I love when I can see things "click" in her mind. I love that no matter what I am working on she thinks I am awesome and everything I do is perfect. She always helps me remember to be a little kinder to myself and anything I work on. She truly is my favorite little friend!

Day 67

March 9, 2009

Emmalee told me today when I made lunch- "Mom you make really good grilled chesse sandwiches -- when you don't burn them!" She is right - I have a habit of starting lunch and then trying to hurry and switch laundry or make beds or something and then smell burning and remember that I was cooking lunch! Her little comment has made me smile all day!

Day 66

March 8, 2009

I wore my favorite shoes to church today. My toes were a little cold and my legs were a little (okay a lot) white but I how could I not be happy with red polka-dot shoes on!

Day 65

March 7, 2009

Joe went fly fishing today. Should you really be wading out into the water fly-fishing and come home with snow on your wading boots?

Day 64

March 6, 2009

I am not sure how it happened but my little girl grew up very quickly. I receieved her Kindergarten registration papers in the mail today. I can't believe that she really will be starting school in the fall.

Day 63

March 5, 2009
I had been looking for a new pair of shoes and I had been to the store twice to look at them and finally had decided which ones I wanted for sure and went back in to buy them (preparing to pay the regular price for them) when there happened to be 1 pair my size on the half-off table. It is very rare that my size is clearanced - I must have a common foot size! I am very happy with my 50% off new shoes.

Day 62

March 4, 2009

Em and I went to the bank today and opened a saving account. The lady at the bank let Em sign all of her own paperwork.

Day 61

March 3, 3009

When my parents were here they brought Em this giant Barbie doll. This was my doll when I was a kid and now Em packs it around everywhere with her.

Day 60

March 2, 2009

Today was Em'f first ski lesson. She did great and is excited to go back.

Day 59

March 1, 2009
This weekend my grandma and mom and dad came to visit. My kids absolutely adore Grandma Kathy. She gets right down on the floor and plays with them. We love Grandma Kathy!

Day 58

February 28, 2009

Joe and I went skiing together for the first time today. We had a lot of fun! When we stopped for lunch Joe asked me where I was sore - I told him my quads were sore and he was suprised because his quads were not sore at all. After lunch Mark and I worked pretty hard on teaching Joe how to turn - he did pretty good. The next day Joe woke up and said "I guess when you ski the right way your quads really do hurt!"

Day 57

February 27, 2009

These little girls absolutely loved the sled. They loved going fast and giggled the whole time.

Day 56

February 26, 2008

A.J. was not impressed with the sled ride - he enjoyed the 4 wheeler once Joe let him drive.

Day 55

February 25, 2009

I am crazy about this boy! I love spending time with him while Em is in school - he comes up with some pretty creative games.

Day 54

February 24, 2009

Anyone who knows A.J. - knows that he is in LOVE with penguins. He sleeps with them every night and he packs them around with him most of the day.

Day 53

February 23, 2009A.J. has been so enthralled with doing puzzles lately. He is actually suprisingly good at them. He is great at doing the straight pieces first and then filling in with pieces that have the same colors.

Day 52

February 22, 2009

Emmalee loves to play with play-dough. Tonight her and Joe made a nest full of eggs then Em wanted to count all of the eggs - so they lined them all up and counted 321 play-dough robin eggs. I am so grateful for Joe - he is absolutely amazing with our kids.

Day 51

February 21, 2009

Today I went shopping in Park City with some friends. We all left kiddos home with our husbands and spent the day eating and talking and laughing, and shopping. What a great day!

Day 50

February 20, 2009

What a beautiful day to go sledding. We don't let the ice cold weather or freezing cold wind stop us from taking our kids outside.

Day 49

February 19, 2009

Joe's little brother got his mission call today. He is the baby of the family so his brothers were all really excited for him. He leaves for Tahiti on June 3rd. There is no real way to describe Mark - he is one of the best people that I know and he is one of the most sincere people I have ever met. We love Uncle Mark!

Day 48

February 18, 2009

This on the main road in our little town and my kids are fascinated by it. Everytime we go by it they both yell "there's the elkhorn arch" It is as if every time they see it it is the first time.

Day 47

February 17, 2009
Em is starting to sound out words and enjoys reading so much. I stepped out of the shower this morning to find her reading to A.J. What a great a big sister!
